The traders were traveling to Niger State from Goronyo, Sokoto State, with 65 passengers, six motorcycles, and sacks of onions and beans. When the truck got to the Koko/Besse local government area in Kebbi state, its head broke off from the body and went off the road into a neighboring bush, killing eleven people and injuring numerous more who were transported to the hospital for treatment.
After learning of the incident, a group of traffic police swiftly mobilized to the area and took the victims to the hospital, where a medical professional confirmed the death of eleven people, according to SP Nafiu Abubakar, the image maker for Kebbi State Police.
