“2-0, 2-1”- Throwback videos of times Nigeria beat South Africa in 2000 and 2019 AFCON surfaces

The anticipated 2023 AFCON semi-final between Nigeria’s Super Eagles and South Africa’s Bafana Bafana is only a few hours away, as citizens wait in expectation.

Ahead of the match, old video of the national team defeating the South African squad circulated on social media.

Nigerian footballers defeated Bafana Bafana 2-0 at the 2000 AFCON, with famed winger Tijani Babangida scoring the winning goal. This allowed the Super Eagles win comfortably and go to the final, where they lost to Cameroon.
