2019: Ex-VP, Atiku Abubakar, sets to Form a New Party As PDP Settles For Another Presidential Candidate
Emerging report reaching our news desk, indicates that former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, has allegedly opted to form a new party, as all indication shows that the powers that be in the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, are not ready to give him the 2019 Presidential ticket.
A credible source, revealed that the PDP leadership led by the Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, and his River State Counterpart, Nyesom Wike, are of the opinion that it will be hard to sell Atiku to Nigerians in 2019.
Speaking further, the source alleged that Atiku who is rather taking his last shot at the Presidency due to his age factor, is desperate in ensuring that he vies for the Presidency in 2019.
“PDP will never allow Atiku to clinch the Presidential ticket on the party’s platform. Atiku has a lot of political baggage which will make it difficult for the opposition party to field him as a Presidential candidate.
He added: “The only option left for Atiku, is to join any of the newly formed political parties or form a new one. Indication shows that he may likely form a new party ahead of 2019. You can recall how he formed a new party in 2007? known as Action Congress, AC, during the days he was having a running battle with his then boss, former President, Olusegun Obasanjo.”
The source maintained that the opposition PDP may settle for the former Jigawa State Governor, Sule Lamido, or any other credible candidate from the North, but not Atiku Abubakar.
