2023: Governor Yahaya Bello Speaks On Running for President.
The Governor, Yahaya Bello of Kogi State, has responded to the call for him to contest during the 2023 general elections.
The All Progressives Congress Governor on Monday stated that he does not want to be distracted by the call for him to take over power from President Muhammadu Buhari in 2023.
Bello in a statement released through his spokesman, Nnogwu Sani Mohammed at the ongoing security and economic summit of the Northcentral Governors Forum in Makurdi, the Benue State capital, said he “is focused on delivering the mandate of rebuilding Kogi State.”
Bello opined, ”his administration’s ability to curb insecurity in Kogi State and massive youth empowerment has been attracting support leading to the calls” for him to contest for presidency come 2023 but maintained that he does “not want to be distracted with” such calls.
The Kogi State Governor called on the people of the state to support him in his plan to deliver second term promises.
Bello said “the issue of the 2023 presidency should not be put on the front burner and heat the polity,”.
