Naja’atu Salisu, a 300-level computer science student at Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU) Bauchi, died after being discovered unconscious in the bathroom on Friday morning, July 26.
Naja’atu had gone to the restroom at the female hostel on the university’s Gubi campus to take a morning shower and prepare for classes, but she was later discovered unconscious on the floor.
One of her roommates informed Leadership, “She had completed her usual morning routine and had laid out the clothes she planned to wear to class before going into the bathroom.”
ATBU Spokesperson Zailani Bappa confirmed the incident, claiming that Naja’atu was brought to the university clinic for medical attention, but medical workers were unable to locate a vein.
“She was then taken to the Trauma Centre of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital, where she was pronounced dead by medical doctors,” he said.
In other news, Professor at Nnamdi Azikiwe University, is getting flak for cutting off a male student’s haircut because it was too bushy.
A video making the rounds on social captured the moment a lecturer interrupted an ongoing class to address the hairstyle of one of his students.
The man pulled out scissors and pointed them at the student’s hair, cutting it in an uneven way to fit his idea of what a good college haircut should look like.
Now that the video has gone viral, people on social media are angry at the lecturer for breaking the law without following the right procedures.
