5 Nigerians Hack Into A Bank, Successfully Increases Customer’s Balance From N781,000 To N466,000m
Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission have apprehended five hackers who hacked a bank in Nigeria.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has arrested and arraigned 5 men who hacked into a bank and increased a customer’s balance from N781k to N466m.
The suspects identified as; Bashir Abdullahi Mohammed, Oche Ogenyi, Adefila Taofile Kayode, Rabiu Aliko Lawal and Mmadu Mathew, were arraigned before justice Mohammed Tukur of a Kaduna State High Court, on a two-count charge bordering on conspiracy and stealing to the tune of N466m.
The suspects who pleaded “not guilty” to the charges and were ordered to be remanded in EFCC custody pending the determination of the bail applications, were arrested following a petition by Polaris Bank, alleging that they hacked into the bank’s application, and fraudulently increased the N781,000 in one of the customer’s bank account to N466 million.
