Funke Akindele, a politician and Nollywood actress, has explained why she stopped using Twitter after her electoral defeat.
The incumbent governor defeated Funke Akindele, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) deputy governorship candidate, in her polling unit.
Funke Akindele deleted all of her political-related posts a few days after losing the election.
Funke stayed away from Twitter after she lost the election as well. Following her recent return, a curious fan inquired about her absence from the app.
The fan wrote;
“Madam Funke, I site you… Longest time.. you run away from us abi wot happen?”
Funke responded;
“Dem too dey insult people on this app, so I stay off.”

Nollywood actress Funke Akindele has deleted all her Instagram posts excluding five videos she shared a few days ago.
It was earlier noted that the record breaking actress deleted campaign videos, posters and photos from her Instagram page.
She also deleted photos of herself, her husband and her projects from her Instagram page.
As of the time of reporting, only five posts are left on her page, including a tribute to her late mother, an official statement on her next move post-election failure, her record-breaking post and others.
Funke Akindele deletes PDP’s political posts from her Instagram page
Nollywood actress, Funke Akindele has deleted all political posts from her Instagram page.
Taking a look at Funke’s Instagram page, it was observed that the actress deleted all political posts concerning herself and her principal, Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran better known as Jandor after they contested under the People’s Democratic Party for governor and deputy governor positions in Lagos state.
Funke’s action comes hours after the 2023 gubernatorial elections took place in Lagos admist reports of thuggery and tribalism.
