A leaked audio has gone viral on social media, revealing that Kano State governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, is dissatisfied with the meeting in Paris, France, between President-elect Bola Tinubu and the presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Progressives Party (NNPP) in the 2023 presidential election, Rabiu Kwankwaso.
Ganduje, a loyalist of the President-elect, was filmed voicing his rage at the encounter.
The two met in Paris in preparation for the new administration’s commencement, and it was stated that they agreed to arrange additional talks because they couldn’t conclude on that day.
Meanwhile, according to the leaked tape published by Daily Nigerian, Ganduje had a phone call regarding the meeting with Ibrahim Masari, the former vice presidential candidate (placeholder) of the All Progressives Congress.
Ganduje was heard complaining about the meeting, claiming Tinubu was being unfair to him by meeting with his competitor Kwankwaso.
During the phone call, Masari asked Ganduje to remain calm and not become enraged by the situation.
He also stated that Tinubu’s decision to visit Kwankwaso behind them was a bad indicator that may make people distrust him.
Ganduje also mentioned the feud between Kwankwaso and ex-President Goodluck Jonathan over alleged corruption.
Masari confirmed the meeting between Tinubu and Kwanwaso, saying, “I spoke with Mr President earlier and I lamented to him about the issue.”
He (Tinubu) told me that the meeting was organised by SLS [Sanusi Lamido Sanusi] through Gilbert Chagoury a Franco-Lebanese business tycoon and ally of Mr Tinubu).
“I also asked if you were informed prior to the meeting, and he (Tinubu) said no.” I will sufficiently brief you when we meet, as you are aware that phone calls are not secure. Just keep your maturity on display by remaining silent,” he advised.
