Taiwan’s defense ministry reported on Monday that it had counted 103 Chinese military aircraft in its airspace in the previous 24 hours.

Taiwan’s defense ministry reported on Monday that it had recorded 103 Chinese military aircraft in its airspace in the previous day, setting a new record for sorties per day.

Taiwan’s national defense ministry stated that as of 6:00 a.m. m. 40 of the Chinese aircraft crossed the Taiwan Strait’s median line and entered Taiwan’s south-western and south-eastern airspace on Monday (2200 GMT Sunday).

Around Taiwan, nine People’s Liberation Army (PLA) Navy ships had been spotted.

According to the ministry, Taiwan has tasked land-based missile systems, navy ships, combat air patrol aircraft, and combat air patrol aircraft to respond to these activities.

The ministry claimed in a statement on Monday that the presence of Chinese aircraft posed serious threats to regional security.

According to the ministry, maintaining peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait is the responsibility of all parties. Beijing’s actions, however, could exacerbate regional security concerns and inflame tensions, the ministry added.

The ministry urged the Beijing authorities to accept accountability and immediately halt such lonesomely destructive actions.

Last week, Taipei noted a number of Chinese military ships and dozens of military aircraft flying near its shores.

China views Taiwan’s self-governing democracy, which has existed since 1949, as a part of its territory.
