The management of Kwara State Polytechnic disputed the allegations of duo suspects of Adama Joseph and Oreoluwa Davies, who were paraded by the Nigeria Police as suspects in the murder of club owner Adeniyi Ojo in a hotel in Ilorin, Kwara State.

In a statement titled, “Re: How we killed club owner in hotel – Female Student,” which was made available to PUNCH Online by the institution’s Public Relations Officer, Halimat Garba, on Thursday, the registrar said the suspects are not students of the polytechnic.

The statement partly read, “The Management wishes to disclaim this discrediting and malicious news about the institution, stating that the suspects being paraded in Abuja by the force PRO, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, are students of Kwara State Polytechnic.

“The Polytechnic management wishes to state categorically that its students are good ambassadors of the Polytechnic, the state, and Nigeria at large and will never indulge in such acts.”

The institution emphasized that the suspects’ assertion that they attended the polytechnic is false, without foundation, and the product of their imagination, stressing that the claim was made to tarnish the reputation of the perpetually peaceful institution.

Additionally, the registrar requested all Polytechnic stakeholders and press personnel to confirm any information associated with the organization before disseminating it.

Recall that Adama claimed the victim had been requesting a sexual relationship with her for some time during the questioning on Wednesday at the Force Headquarters in Abuja. She declined, though, because she had formerly worked for him and that, when she left, he had never provided for her requirements in terms of money. Oreoluwa concurred with Adama’s account of the incident.

She further asserted that she had completed her ND program at Kwara Polytechnic prior to the occurrence.
