A female prison guard who gained notoriety for filming a selfie with convicts has issued a formal apology.
The prison security personnel, dressed professionally, was spotted creating a Tok-tok film with the faces of inmates in their cells.
Internet users speculated that she had purposefully created the video to show the faces of the prisoners behind bars based on the way she had captured it.
The female officer with the Tok-tok handle @OriginalDede4 came under fire from internet users after the video went viral.
She promised to be more considerate of her behaviour, took down the video, and apologised in public.
Her apology reads …
“Please accept my apologies for failing to
observe proper conduct in the course of my
duty. It was unethical and needless on my
part. I thought I was being human and
welcoming to the inmates but I realize my act
was uncalled for. I have since deleted that
post and take full responsibility for my action.
Rest assured that I have learned my lesson
and I’ll be more mindful of my actions from
now on.
