“Leave your religion out of your professional work” — Doctor begs advises after Nigerian nurse gets deported for praying for sick patient

After a Nigerian nurse was deported for praying for a sick patient, a medical doctor pleaded with Nigerians in the diaspora to separate their religion from their work life.

The doctor, @DrOlufunmilayo, is a well-known Nigerian medical influencer based in the United Kingdom.

He explained on his page that the nurse, who is a caregiver for the elderly, was assigned to care for a dying patient.

Unfortunately, she was fired and deported from the country after being reported for “praying for the patient to get better.”

The medical doctor went on to explain to the shocked onlookers that imposing your religious beliefs on patients is unethical.

He clarified that as a healthcare professional in the U.K, one is supposed to focus only on the job and if the client brings up religion, you should refer.

@official_adags asked: “So her good gesture ruined her career and took food from her mouth?”

@sisiolojuede said: “I hope Nigerians will learn and it also pays to mind one’s business .”

@Shileholar1 added: “She was a staff of an END OF LIFE HOME a place built for elderly people to spend the rest of their days well taken care of
It’s totally unprofessional to be praying for your patients you were employed as a care giver not a prayer warrior
