Danladi Jatau, a representative from Kokona West Constituency, was unanimously chosen Speaker of the House by the members of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly on Friday.
Likewise, Mohammed Oyanki, a member from Doma North Constituency, was appointed Deputy Speaker.
The recently filled posts came about as a result of Ibrahim Abdullahi, the former Speaker, being fired on Tuesday at the Abuja Appeal Court.
According to our correspondent, Oyanki, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party, and the newly appointed Speaker, Jatua, of the All Progressives Congress, worked together to establish Oyanki as the assembly’s head in order to preserve the calm that currently exists.
