The Plateau state-based University of Jos (UNIJOS) has issued a strong warning to its alumni who have been found to be lacking in moral fiber. Prof. Tanko Ishaya, the university’s vice-chancellor, stated that the institution will not think twice about taking back graduates’ credentials for indiscretions.
As per Ishaya, the extraordinary measures are taken to preserve the worldwide reputation and superior quality that UNIJOS has earned over the years.
At the matriculation and oath-taking ceremony for new undergraduate students accepted into the classes of 2021–2022 and 2022–2023 he made this statement.
As reported by The Nation, He said, “UNIJOS will not allow any of its students or alumni to bring the university’s name to disrepute through deviant behavior,”. According to Ishaya, the institution has trained a large number of individuals who are positively impacting the world’s human population.
According to the vice chancellor, certificates are given to UNIJOS graduates based on their evaluation of their character and academic performance. Out of 57,333 candidates, he said that 8,469, including three foreigners, were accepted into the university.
