Victor Osimhen’s deal with PSG on brink of collapse

Negotiations between Napoli and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) over the transfer of Victor Osimhen have  hit a gridlock.

This has created concerns that the deal may fail, with sources indicating that the Nigerian sensation is considering talks with Napoli boss Antonio Conte over a possible stay at the club for the upcoming season.

Remember that the 25-year-old Nigerian striker has been a top target for PSG, especially since Kylian Mbappe moved to Real Madrid on a free transfer.

PSG sought to improve their squad following the departure of the French international, and Osimhen was viewed as a perfect fit.

His representative, Roberto Calenda, came to Paris to begin negotiations, but the talks have yet to advance.

According to Football Italia, a critical call was made on Monday afternoon by Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis, PSG president Nasser Al Khelaifi, and sports directors Giovanni Manna and Luis Campos.

However, Fabrizio Romano’s research now indicates that the meetings did not produce positive results.

PSG has indicated no intention of matching Osimhen’s €130 million release clause, which is a stumbling point for Napoli.

In an attempt to reach an agreement, Napoli proposed include Kang-In Lee in the transaction, but PSG rejected the idea.

Instead, PSG offered Carlos Soler and Nordi Mukiele in exchange, which Napoli declined.

With negotiations at a standstill, there is a good chance that Osimhen will stay with Napoli for the time being.
