“Everyday I get things to say” – Wizkid on desire to speak out

Wizkid, the Afrobeats singer whose real name is Ayo Balogun, stated that he would have been a footballer if he hadn’t pursued music.

He stated that he played for his school’s football team, but his impatience and aversion to waking up early led him away from that path.

In an interview posted by @itzbasito on X, Wizkid mentioned that he has friends who are football players. They enjoy partying together, but they don’t smoke or drink, as they need to wake up at 6 am for training. He views this as dedication.

Wizkid also shared that he doesn’t travel with bodyguards because he considers his management team to be family. He added that his manager, Sunday Are, is like a father figure to him.
