Well-known Ghanaian gospel artist Ohemaa Mercy has created a stir online after discussing her reasons for ending her marriage to Mr. Twum-Ampofo.

In an open interview with Cookie Tee on TV3, she clarified that the split was not impulsive but came after much thought and prayer.

Ohemaa Mercy emphasized that her decision was made after seeking God’s direction.

“I didn’t just get up one day and decide to divorce my husband. I took it to God in prayer. I was committed to doing the Lord’s work, and I knew marriage was somewhat going to hinder it. So I sought His permission and approval before deciding to divorce him,” she explained.

When asked if she initiated the divorce, Ohemaa Mercy confirmed that she made the first move, stressing that the decision was mutual and free of hostility. “We came to a mutual agreement about going our separate ways, and he agreed,” she added.
