The 88-year-old retired Archbishop of Lagos, Cardinal Anthony Olubunmi Okogie, was present at the event celebrating Dame Doja.

The Cross Pro Ecclesia et Pontifice, or Cross of Honor, was founded in 1888 by Pope Leo XIII. It is presented to Catholics aged 45 and older who have provided significant service to the Catholic Church and the Papal office. This is the top Papal award that can be given to women.
