Richard Mofe-Damijo (RMD), a seasoned actor in Nollywood, has given some advice to Basketmouth, who is moving from comedy to filmmaking.

RMD encouraged him to reach out to industry professionals as he gets ready to launch his first movie, “A Ghetto Love Story.”

In a message on Instagram, he praised Basketmouth for his brave decision, stressing that filmmaking is about more than just having talent.

He emphasized the importance of learning from experienced filmmakers.

RMD suggested that Basketmouth collaborate with notable figures in the industry, such as Funke Akindele, Mo Abudu, AY Makun, and Kunle Afolayan.

RMD said: “Congratulations on your new film ‘A Ghetto Love Story’. I say make I call you, hail you first and then give you advice. You know you are entering a place where people have already established. Hold ground.

“You fit press things for different places. This is not comedy. Do not do it anyhow. This na film.

“When you enter, go find people wey hold ground. People wey dey control the whole area. All of them like Funke Akindele, Mo Abudu, AY, Kunle Afolayan and other people wey dey do film well. Wey be oga. Call them.

“Tell them you want to know one or two things. Comedy with Buchi fit work, but that na after you don pay respect to people wey hold ground.”
