Actress Ebun Hodo has stressed that talent is more important than looks in the film industry.

In a chat with Potpourri, she pointed out that being beautiful or attractive alone won’t guarantee a lasting career.

On how to succeed, she said: “There is a saying that goes, ‘Many are called, but few are chosen.’ Are you really among the chosen?

” Do you have the knowledge of what you are doing? Can you interpret roles with depth and conviction?” she questioned.

Hodo argued against the belief that physical appearance is enough for success, highlighting that relying just on sex appeal won’t result in a sustainable career. “If not, I’m sorry ma’am, your distribution of sex appeal won’t take you anywhere in Nollywood, except through the usual shortcuts like juju,” she added.

The actress emphasized that the industry prioritizes skill and hard work over appearance. “Nollywood is an industry where talent and dedication matter more than looks. You need to bring something real to the table—whether it’s passion, hard work, or a commitment to your craft—because looks will only get you so far,” she concluded.

In other news, Reality star Mercy Eke playfully called her fellow star Frodd her “spiritual husband” during her birthday celebration.

This happened when Frodd surprised her at her place to join in the festivities and give her some birthday hype.

As they danced and enjoyed the fun vibe, she affectionately referred to him as her spiritual husband.
