Facebook user urges Ebuka to quit hosting BBNaija after this season wraps up

A Facebook user, who follows the BBNaija reality TV show, has addressed host Ebuka, requesting that he resign after the conclusion of the current season.

In an extensive post on his Facebook page, the viewer articulated concerns regarding the diminishing interest among Nigerians in this year’s edition of the program.

He contended that many Nigerians, especially those with more critical perspectives, feel that BBNaija has reached its conclusion.

The viewer proposed that even the inclusion of well-known figures such as VeryDarkMan and Bobrisky would not rejuvenate the show’s appeal.

He presented several additional arguments to bolster his position, stressing that it might be an appropriate moment for Ebuka to contemplate stepping down as the host.

His full statement:

“At this rate, I think the smartest thing for Ebuka Obi Uchendo to do is distance himself from Big Brother Naija after this season ends. The indifference and disinterest Nigerians have for this year’s edition of the show is just EMBARRASSING and unsettling.”

“In fact, any intelligent Nigerian would at this point accept the fact that Big Brother Naija has completed its lifespan and outlived its novelty for Nigerians.”

“Nigerians will never go crazy about the show again even if Multi choice drags Bobrisky, Verydarkblackman and Blessing CEO into the house and pay them to have threesomes in front of the cameras every eviction night.”

“Check am na.”

“Fewer sponsors.”

“Fewer Gotv and DStv subscriptions to follow the show compared to other seasons.”

“Poor social media buzz— majority of Nigerians don’t even know that Big Brother Naija TV show is even ongoing.”

“Not a single housemate has resonated their presence to the point of Nigerians knowing their name compared to other seasons where even people not closely following the show were familiar with names like T-boss, Uti Nwachukwu, Miracle, Tacha, Mercy, Lekan, White Money etc.”

“Even the worst season of Star quest on NTA or a bad imitation of Papa Ajasco drama on an upcoming influencer’s TikTok page would have more buzz than this year’s Big Brother.”

“Most times I even pity the organizers and wonder how they will raise the money to pay the winners of the show.”

“How are they even able to feed the housemates and keep power running in that place 24/7 because 95% of Nigerians have no interest in subscribing to vote.”

“Most advanced countries in the world have long abandoned Big Brother and even the South African owners of DSTV who are the sole organizers of the Big Brother show in Nigeria stopped running the show in their own country and have focused on just milking the lucrative Nigerian entertainment market.”

“It’s been a good run for Big Brother in Nigeria.”

“But at this point, they have to throw in the towel and be grateful for the billions they made from the masses all these years they were hot cake on our screens.”

“This year especially was worse because the economic hardship in this current regime is like nothing Nigerians have experienced before, so one would wonder how blind the reality show organizers had to be not to gauge this before rolling out YET another season of an UNNECESSARY reality show that doesn’t embody or mirror any form of worthwhile entertainment or creativity showcasing.”

“People can barely even afford to pay house rent and feed their families and you are asking them to pay exorbitant DSTV and GOTV subscription every month for 90 days to watch other human beings that aren’t Michael Jackson or Madonna sleeping and speaking in a fake Americanized accent?”

“Plus when you think about it, BBN was never even really capable of creating REAL stars the way other talent based entertainment shows did anyway.”

“Asides Ebuka, what Big Brother Naija winner or participant ever came out to become anything beyond a clout chasing ‘ex BBN housemate’ with plenty social media followers that brands seek out for ambassadorial deals within the first few months of their leaving the house?”

“At least MTN project Fame and Idols made music stars like Iyanya, Chidimma, Mercy Chinwo, Chike and Omawumi.”

“Which creative who made it into BBN house and even won was able to come out and actualize their creative abilities using the visibility and exposure Big Brother gave them?”

“Lekan, Efe and Hazel Oyeze Onou Whitemoney to mention but a few all tried and fizzled into obscurity and irrelevance almost before they even finished dropping their first songs.”

“Ebuka should carry his handsomeness, eloquence and sleek fashion sense to other brands with more creative YouTube reality show concepts and apply.”

“Yes. The world is rapidly evolving past the TV era and gravitating towards YouTube and social media.”

“People no longer care about sitting in front of a TV screen anymore to follow up on boring programs on DSTV.”

“Smart phone entertainment is where the world is now.”
