Ebuka Obi, the dynamic and often polarizing founder of the Zion Prayer Movement Outreach (ZPMO), has once again captured public attention by disclosing a personal choice that is difficult to overlook.

In a recent and revealing interview with BBC Igbo, the cleric from Imo State, speaking in his native Igbo language, made a startling revelation that has reverberated throughout the spiritual community and beyond—he disclosed that he has never engaged in sexual intercourse.

He explained that twelve years ago, he made a solemn vow to God to maintain celibacy until marriage.

For Ebuka Obi, celibacy transcends mere sacrifice; it serves as a significant instrument that enables him to remain spiritually attuned, allowing him to perceive God’s voice with utmost clarity, free from worldly distractions.

His words;

“I have never dated before. I have never had sexual intercourse with any woman. Any woman who says I’ve had sexual relations with her should speak up

“Qualities in a woman is not the reason I am not yet married. What is holding me back is that I want to hear the voice of God on it. He has never directed me about marriage. I prayed for 100 days last year to hear from God about it but there was no sign.”

Obi also recounted a pivotal moment in his life, revealing that in 2009, he made the courageous choice to abandon a successful career in electronic trading to follow his true vocation—establishing Zion Ministry.

Throughout the interview, Obi addressed the increasing rumors and speculations surrounding his ministry, particularly the allegations that his miracles are fabricated.

With steadfast assurance, he categorically refuted these accusations, asserting that his healings and miracles are genuine expressions of divine intervention.
