Nigerian actor and filmmaker Yul Edochie has spoken out against his critics. In a video featuring him in traditional dress, he shared his thoughts on the harsh comments he often faces.
Yul feels that much of the negativity comes from jealousy, as people are envious of his unique style.
He also noted that his second wife, Judy Austin, believes his brightness is too much for his detractors to handle.
Yul Edochie wrote;
“Leave story, you get am you get am.
If you no get am, you no get am.
No wonder they beef me so much, my steeze is too much.
According to Ijele @judyaustin1 my light is blinding them.
Ndi Ala!
ISI MMILI JI OFOR 1.
EZEDIKE 1.
Ofu Onye Nyili Ora.”
Recently, Yul Edochie faced criticism from his family for how he showcases his second wife, Judy Austin, on social media.
In an interview with Blessing CEO, Yul’s father, Pete Edochie, was asked about his son’s choice to marry a second wife while still being married to May Edochie, the mother of his three children.
Pete’s reply was surprising. He didn’t openly criticize Yul but emphasized his belief in staying committed to one woman and respecting marriage vows.
He shared his negative view on polygamy, stating that monogamy is a tradition passed down from his father, which he has followed for many years.
Pete’s honest advice to the younger crowd—probably aimed at Yul—was to stick to the family value of being committed to one woman, but he added an unexpected point.
On a podcast with seasoned actor Kanayo O Kanayo, Yul’s brother, Linc Edochie, also shared his thoughts. Linc mentioned that Yul should always think twice about any choice that might hurt someone else before making it.
Kanayo, who mentioned that Yul is not the first man to marry again, questioned why he keeps showing off Judy on social media. He directly asked Linc for his opinion and the family’s view on the situation.
Linc replied that what’s done is done, and like his father Pete Edochie advises, Yul should keep his marriage off social media.
The filmmaker expressed that those praising Yul for his choices might criticize him if his second marriage faces problems.
