In other news, On Saturday, November 16 (IST), the highly anticipated boxing match between legendary fighter Mike Tyson and YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul took place.
Initially set for July 20, the fight was rescheduled to November 15 after the 58-year-old Tyson was found medically unfit to compete earlier in the year.
The event, hosted at AT&T Stadium in Dallas as the centerpiece of a major Netflix special, marked Tyson’s return to professional boxing after a two-decade absence. Ultimately, it was Jake Paul who triumphed, winning against the boxing icon by unanimous decision.
The bout commenced with Tyson asserting dominance, decisively winning the first two rounds. However, the 27-year-old Paul mounted a remarkable comeback, gradually shifting the fight’s momentum in his favor. An unofficial scorecard indicated this shift, showing a score of 78-74 in favor of Paul.
Tyson began the match strongly, leveraging his extensive experience to control the early rounds. Nevertheless, Paul’s tactical adjustments began to yield results in the third round, where a series of triple jabs earned him a 10-9 score. By the conclusion of the fourth round, Tyson maintained a narrow lead at 29-28, but fatigue soon became a critical factor for the former heavyweight champion.
As Tyson’s agility diminished, Paul seized the opportunity, landing effective body shots and combinations that allowed him to take the lead at 48-47. Continuing to apply pressure, Paul increased his advantage to 58-56 in the following rounds. A series of powerful punches ultimately sealed Tyson’s fate, with Paul claiming a decisive victory.
This victory represents the most significant achievement of Jake Paul’s professional boxing career, solidifying his status in the sport and symbolizing a generational shift in boxing.
