President-elect Donald Trump has chosen 27-year-old Karoline Leavitt, who served as his campaign spokesperson, to be the White House press secretary.

Trump commended her intelligence, strength, and talent in communication.

“I have complete confidence that she will thrive at the podium and effectively convey our message to the American public,” Trump said on Leavitt’s appointment.

According to sources, Leavitt will be one of the youngest individuals to serve as White House press secretary, a position that involves representing the administration and addressing media inquiries.

She acted as the national press secretary for Trump during the campaign and gave birth to her first child in July, shortly before the election, as she revealed in a Fox News podcast.

Leavitt also worked as an assistant press secretary during Trump’s first term and ran for a House seat in New Hampshire in 2022, though she did not succeed.

She worked as the communications director for Congresswoman Elise Stefanik, nominated by Trump for the position of UN ambassador.

“I didn’t grow up in a political family. I grew up like most Americans in a middle-class business family here in my home state of New Hampshire,” she told the Fox News podcast.

“I just dove into politics at my college, Saint Anselm College, in Manchester (New Hampshire).”
