Nnamdi Kanu has criticized the presiding judge in his trial, Binta Nyako, alleging corruption on her part.
Kanu, who leads the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), was recorded in a video shared by “The Cable,” where he confronted the judge and claimed she had recused herself from the case.
He stated, “Justice Binta Nyako’s son and husband are facing corruption charges and she’s been told that if she convicts me, they will be let off. Poor knowledge of the law is killing Nigeria.
Justice Binta Nyako serves as a judge at the federal high court in Abuja.
She has postponed Kanu’s trial indefinitely.
The adjournment occurred on Monday after Kanu maintained that the judge could not oversee his case due to her prior recusal.
Kanu was extradited to Nigeria in June 2021 and has been in detention while facing charges of alleged terrorism.

In other news, BBNaija contestant Kassia Sule has added her voice to the discussions surrounding Nigerian comedian Zicsaloma’s recent transformation following his rhinoplasty procedure in Turkey.
Zicsaloma encountered significant criticism and backlash from social media users who were not in favor of his choice to undergo the surgery. Nevertheless, the comedian remained undeterred and subsequently released a video displaying his new appearance, which has elicited a variety of responses from both supporters and detractors.
In her response, Kassia took to X to advise people to always request old photographs of their prospective partners prior to marriage. She emphasized that this practice is essential to prevent any unexpected revelations in the future, particularly given the rising popularity of cosmetic enhancements.
In her words:
“Before you say “I do,” make sure to ask for a throwback photo from 10 years ago! With all these surgical upgrades, you need to know who you’re really signing up for. You don’t want to be left wondering why your kid looks like a stranger. Check the receipts before the vows.”
Kassia’s comment was met with mixed reactions, with some people finding it amusing and others seeing it as a valid point.
