The Ogun State Amotekun Corps conducted a raid on February 12, targeting a camp where young women were being trafficked for sex.
According to a report, about fifteen people suspected of being sex workers, along with their leader Idem Joy, were arrested in a recent raid.
The Ogun State Corps reportedly rescued women aged 12 to 39 from prostitution at the Railway Line Hotel on the old bank road in Ifo.
Some of the items found included N819,600, different kinds of drugs, boxes of condoms, energy boosters, lubricants, and packs of tissues, among other things.
The 14-year-old survivor, a JSS3 dropout, said during questioning that she was promised a job as a sales girl. However, when she arrived in the state, she discovered she was forced into prostitution.
“They did not tell me that this is what I will be doing; they only told me that I would be a sales girl when I arrive. So I came with my friend, Glory, but she works at another hotel.
“On getting here, I was given some drugs to take before I started the work. She (Idem Joy) cut some hair from my head, saying whenever I run she would use my hair to kill me.
For some she took their pictures and others their blood,” she said
