Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan Warns Akpabio’s Wife to Stay Out of Harassment Allegations
Kogi Central Senator, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, has urged Unoma Akpabio, wife of Senate President Godswill Akpabio, to distance herself from the ongoing allegations against her husband.
In a statement, Akpoti-Uduaghan reaffirmed her claims of harassment against Akpabio, stating that she has “concrete evidence” to support her accusations. She advised Unoma Akpabio to stay out of the controversy for the sake of her well-being and that of her family.
The dispute began after Akpoti-Uduaghan rejected a reassigned sitting position in the Senate. She alleged that the Senate President deliberately sidelined her motions and subjected her to intimidation due to her refusal to comply with his alleged advances.
In response, Unoma Akpabio dismissed the claims, accusing the senator of fabricating the story for personal gain. She subsequently filed a defamation lawsuit against Akpoti-Uduaghan, demanding ₦350 billion in damages.
On March 1, 2025, Akpoti-Uduaghan, through her lawyer Victor Giwa, issued a legal notice to Unoma Akpabio, reiterating that the matter was strictly between her and the Senate President. The letter, titled “Stay Away from Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan’s Harassment and Intimidation Allegation Against Senate President Godswill Akpabio: To Safeguard Your Sanity and That of Your Family,” urged Unoma to refrain from further involvement.
The case continues to generate public debate as both parties stand firm on their positions.
