Pastor Daniel Olukoya, the senior pastor of the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries, recounted a remarkable experience from his university years involving an encounter with a naked woman carrying a pot on her head.
During a Sunday service, Pastor Olukoya shared this unsettling memory from 1976, when he was a student at the University of Lagos. He and his friends had rushed a roommate to the hospital following an accident.
After their friend was admitted, they were instructed to leave and return the next morning. Upon exiting the hospital, they encountered a woman approaching them with a large pot balanced on her head. As she drew nearer, they were taken aback to discover that she was unclothed.
“My friends ran away,” Olukoya said. “But I stood my ground. I told myself, ‘Daniel, this is a spirit, and I will see it for myself.’”
As the woman came closer, he addressed her directly. “Madam, you look educated. Why are you walking around naked with a pot on your head in the middle of the night?” he inquired.
To his astonishment, the woman revealed that she had studied in the United Kingdom but had been advised by a native doctor that the only way to escape her family’s troubles was to perform a naked sacrifice.
Olukoya encouraged her to turn to Jesus for help instead. However, she dismissed his advice, retorting, “Young man, mind your business.”
Reflecting on this encounter, Olukoya remarked, “Oppression can drive even the educated into bondage.”
