Two British tourists fall to their death while taking a selfie on a 30ft cliff in Costa Blanca coast, Spain.

One of the British tourists had died immediately after the fall while the other was injured but later died at the hospital after suffering severe injuries in Spain. The tragedy happened at around 7.30pm last night on Spain’s Costa Blanca coast in an area known as Punta Prima, near the town of Torrevieja.

The young British tourists have been identified as Daniel Mee, 25, and Jayden Dolman, 20,

According to local reports, after the fall, Daniel Mee landed on a hut used by lifeguards after plunging between 20 and 32 feet died at the scene. While Jayden Dolman who sustained head injures in the fall was airlifted to Alicante Hospital where he was put in intensive care but later died, health sources revealed.

The pair were with a third Brit who escaped unharmed when the tragedy unfolded at Punta Prima Beach, near the town of Torrevieja.

Daniel, a self-employed plumber, is believed to have died at the scene despite paramedics’ efforts to resuscitate him.

The spot where the men fell is near a set of steps and a lift leading to Punta Prima beach which are said to be well protected by a barrier. Police sources said the local British consulate has been informed of the death.

Punta Prima is the headland marking the border between the municipalities of Orihuela and Torrevieja. Its beach won the prestigious Ecoplaya award in 2010.
