According to a report by the United Nations (UN), the impact of Coronavirus on Nigeria would be very devastating as it may lead to the loss of about 13 million jobs.
The report was actually made by the United Nations World Food Programme.
In the statement, the Senior Spokesperson for the agency, Elisabeth Byrs indicated that a whopping $182m or more is actually needed to sustain life-saving aid to Nigeria.
In her statement, she said;
“We are concerned by conflict-affected communities in North-East Nigeria who already face extreme hunger and who are especially vulnerable.
They are on life-support and need assistance to survive.”
This comes after a recent report by the World Bank indicated that 12% of the world’s poor people are living in Nigeria.
