1. Emefiele Warns Speculators against Creating Panic over Naira, Forex
The Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele, has warned against panic creation in Nigeria’s foreign exchange (Forex) market. There have been speculation of a weak naira due to the rise in exchange rate in the black market.
Emefiele said the parallel market is not the basis of determining the value of the naira. Emefiele has often criticised the use of the black market as the determinant of naira’s strength, stating that only illegal businesses patronise the parallel market.

3. Oyigbo: ‘Wike Will Be Jailed For Life’ – Lawyer To IPOB
A lawyer to the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Ifeanyi Ejiofor, has threatened that Nyesom Wike, the Governor of Rivers State “will be jailed for life”, Gistlover reports.
Wike has entered the bad books of the outlawed IPOB supporters due to his backing of the military onslaught in Oyigbo town (also called Obigbo), Rivers State, following the killing of soldiers and policemen by suspected IPOB members.
4. NSE Index: Stanbic IBTC Lead Banks to Dominate Stock Market
The Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) market closed with 6,325 deals on Tuesday, November 24, 2020, lower than the 8,928 deals it closed with on Monday, November 20, 2020. The volume reached 365,41 million units at the close of the market on Tuesday, lower than the 568,03 million units it closed with on Monday.
The value of trades recorded on Tuesday was NGN4,691 billion, lower than the NGN7,326 billion of Monday. Meanwhile, on Tuesday, the All-Share Index reached 34,340.56 index points, higher than the 34,121.78 All-Share Index of Monday. Read more here.
5. Lagos Begins Recruitment for Agripreneurship Programme
Lagos State Government has begun the recruitment of qualified Nigerians into the Lagos Agripreneurship Programme (LAP) under its Agriculture-based Youth Empowerment Scheme (Agric-YES).
The state Commissioner for Agriculture, Abisola Olusanya, in a press statement on Tuesday, stated that the recruitment was in pursuit of the government’s objective of training no fewer than 15,000 youths and women in the various agricultural value chains by 2023. Read more here.

2019 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WAEC) best student 2019, Chisom Chukwuneke is dead.
Gistlover learnt that 17-year-old Chisom became an instant sensation after making 7 straight As in the 2019 West African Senior School Certificate Examination and emerged as the best student from her school, Graceland college in Enugu, and was inducted into the school’s hall of fame that year.
7. Lekki Shooting: CNN Releases CCTV Analysis, Says Footage Did Not Capture Everything
Renowned American news channel CNN has released an analysis of the Lagos State Government Security Camera footage of the Lekki tollgate shooting.
In the analysis, the American news channel claimed that the surveillance camera did not capture everything that happened at the Lekki tollgate.
8. Claim That Gowon ‘Looted Half Of CBN’ Is Outright Falsehood’ – Shehu Sani
Shehu Sani, a former member of the National Assembly, has reacted to a negative claim about an erstwhile Nigerian leader, Yakubu Gowon, which made by a member of the United Kingdom Parliament, Tom Tugendhat (Tonbridge and Malling) on Monday.
Tom Tugendhat, on Monday, November 23, had alleged that the former Nigerian Head of State, General Gowon, left Nigeria with half the Central Bank and moved to London. Read more here.
9. Nigeria Sports Minister Makes Position Known On Super Eagles Boss, Rohr, In Meeting with Pinnick, Yobo, Amokachi, Others
The Ministry of Youth and Sports Development has given the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) the marching orders to hold Super Eagles’ Technical Adviser, Gernot Rohr to the higher standards contained his contract following the team’s dismal two-legged draw against the Sierra Leonean side in the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.
The Minster of Youth and Sports Development, Sunday Dare made this position known at a meeting with NFF officials on Tuesday to review the Technical Report of the Nigeria/Sierra Leone AFCON Qualifiers and other matters.
10. Biafra: What Exit Of Uche Mefor, Amaka Ekwo Means for IPOB – OYC
The Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council (OYC) has blamed the recent exit of top officials of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) from the outlawed group on “the forceful imposition of alien Jewish religion and cultural norms in predominantly Christian society and Muslim communities without peaceful coexistence”, Gistlover reports.
Recall Gistlover had reported that Amaka Ekwo announced last Saturday that she is no longer IPOB’s New Media and Special Duties Coordinator and Press Secretary to Nnamdi Kanu, the self-exiled IPOB leader.
