Daniel Regha tackles Speed Darlington supporters, says his re-arrest is ‘justified’

  • Daniel Regha, a renowned media personality, has expressed his support for the re-arrest of musician and rapper Darlington Okoye, also known as Speed Darlington.
  • Daniel Regha defended the arrest as warranted in a tweet on Wednesday.
  • Speed Darlington was reportedly rearrested in Imo State after returning to Nigeria, following a previous arrest allegedly instigated by Grammy-winning artist Burna Boy.

Prominent media figure Daniel Regha has publicly endorsed the re-arrest of musician and rapper Darlington Okoye, widely recognized as Speed Darlington.

Regha articulated his perspective through a tweet on Wednesday, asserting that the arrest was justified.

Reports indicate that Speed Darlington was rearrested in Imo State shortly after his return to Nigeria. This incident follows a prior arrest that was allegedly prompted by Grammy-winning artist Burna Boy.

The initial detainment was reportedly linked to Speed Darlington’s contentious statements regarding Burna Boy’s Grammy achievement and his connection with American rapper Diddy.

In his remarks, Daniel Regha underscored that Speed Darlington’s re-arrest was unavoidable given his ongoing public disparagement of Burna Boy.

He pointed out that even after experiencing legal repercussions once, Speed Darlington continued to make defamatory remarks.

“Burna & his team re-arresting Speed Darlington is justified (if true), since Speed Darlington continued to slander his name unprovoked, even after being arrested the first time; And to make matters worse, a lot of people cheered him instead of condemning the act. There’s a limit to one’s tolerance,” Daniel Regha tweeted.
