Ahead of his upcoming new song, ‘Stand Strong’ Nigerian singer David Adeleke popularly called Davido has been called out by controversial Twitter critic, Daniel Regha for disrespecting God.
Davido had earlier this week announced the release of his new song which is quite different from what he has been doing for the past ten years in the music industry.
The snippet shared on the microblogging platform Twitter shows Kanye West’s choir with beautiful backup singers with many people claiming Davido could be vying for a Grammy with the new song.
In the era of so much pressure in the music industry and consistently being mocked for not being nominated for a Grammy, Davido has chosen to do something different.
However, Twitter critic, Daniel Regha in a post on his page slammed Davido saying featuring a choir band in his music is a big slap on the face of the church, especially when he’s not a gospel singer.
Daniel Regha claimed it was a disrespect to God and all practising Christians for Davido to make music with a choir when he is a secular artiste.
He said: “Davido, u featuring a choir band in ur song is a big slap on the face of that church cos u are a secular artiste; Kanye West was wrong to sample ur music in a church to begin with, that’s a disrespect to God & all practising Christians. U can’t play secular songs for God’s glory”.
