Reality television personality Doyin David has stated that prior to considering marriage, a woman should possess a minimum of 5 to 10 million Naira in her bank account.

Doyin expressed this viewpoint during an episode of her podcast, “Doyin’s Corner,” in a discussion with fellow reality star Chizzy.

In elaborating on her statement, Doyin emphasized the necessity of having a significant financial reserve, which would enable a woman to regain stability in the event of unforeseen circumstances.

Citing her own family experience, Doyin David shared how her mother assumed all financial responsibilities following her father’s passing, thanks to her savings and employment.

“At whatever level you are, you need to save up some money. For example, after my dad died, he left a lot of money. I never got to do anything. Up till now, I don’t even take public transport. I don’t know how to do all these house chores because of how I was brought up”.

“Assuming if my mother didn’t have money saved up. What will have happened? Because it took a while to access my dad’s money after his death. I didn’t feel the absence of my dad until after years because my mum took over the responsibilities”.
