Niger coup: Senate must not approve Tinubu’s request for war – Shehu Sani

A religious extremist with a fanatical political agenda shouldn’t hold office, according to former Kaduna Central senator Shehu Sani.

This was stated by the leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Tuesday in a tweet sent from his verified Twitter account.

Appointing someone like that to the cabinet, according to Sani, is a recipe for violence. He also claimed that one of the ministerial nominees who has not yet been confirmed was enamored with power and acted arrogantly as if he were God.

In his words, “The Unconfirmed Ministerial nominee; the one who was intoxicated with power and who arrogantly played God is now at the mercy of those wielding power. A religious extremist with a fanatical political agenda should have no place in the seat of power if that nation desires peace.”

In the meantime, the former lawmaker asserted that President Bola Tinubu’s nominees for ministerial appointments represented his liabilities.

Nine former governors are included on the ministerial list that was sent to the Senate for review and confirmation, according to Gistlover. This development has sparked debate among Nigerians.

Nyesom Wike, Nasir El-Rufai, Dave Umahi, and Bello Matawalle are just a few of the ex-governors.

Sani stated on Monday via a tweet that the technocrats on the ministerial list represent Tinubu’s assets while the former governors represent his liabilities.
