A Nigerian attorney, Ilavbare Rahmatulai, has asserted that a woman cannot exhibit submissiveness if she is deprived of sexual fulfillment, serves as the unacknowledged provider for her family, and is married to a disrespectful partner.
In her Facebook post dated Wednesday, October 2, 2024, the individual, who identifies as a Muslim, mother, grandmother, attorney, and chartered mediator and conciliator, expressed these views. Her post is as follows:
A married woman cannot be submissive if she is:
- Married to a disrespectful and inconsiderate man.
- The unappreciated breadwinner.
- Sex starved.
Submission comes naturally to a woman married to a good man, rich or poor.

In her messages on the microblogging platform, the former GOTV ambassador recounted the troubling circumstances she has faced within her marriage.
Karen Igho revealed that her husband, Yaroslav Rakos, whom she married in 2014, has left her without a home and has subjected her to both physical and sexual abuse.
She further expressed concerns that he intends to take their children from her as they approach divorce proceedings. Karen Igho emphasized that if anything were to happen to her, her husband should be held accountable. She stated:
