A Nigerian man residing abroad has expressed his discontent following a directive from the UK government requiring him to register to vote in the forthcoming election. He has been cautioned that non-compliance could result in a fine of £80.
This sentiment was conveyed in a video that gained significant traction on the widely used social media platform, TikTok. In the video, the man articulates his annoyance, revealing that upon his return to the UK, he received a notification mandating his voter registration, accompanied by a warning about the potential fine for not adhering to this requirement.
In his remarks, he is heard questioning, “£80 for what? £80 because I said I don’t want to vote? I don’t want to vote, is it by force?”
He further emphasized his unwillingness to engage in the electoral process.
As the video circulated online, numerous concerned viewers inundated the comment section with their opinions regarding the matter.
