38-years-old Muritala Olugunju from Ogun State was said to have picked Mohammed at Wuse Zone 6, Abuja, for shopping, before taking him to a hotel where he wanted to stay. But as he entered the hotel to book a room, leaving his bags containing cash and other stuffs in the taxi, Olugunju drove off.
Mohammed alerted the police, who trailed Olugunju and, few weeks later, he has been arrested.
Speaking to Vanguard, the driver said he was pushed by the devil. He explained that he suspected that Mohammed had cash in his bag because he didn’t go to the bank or use ATM throughout their trip.
He confessed: “I gave my girlfriend N200,000 and my sister, N80,000. Then I bought a car for myself which I intended to use for my business, but before I knew what was happening, I was arrested.
“I regret doing this and I hope my passenger will forgive me.”
