    Actor Femi Adebayo’s highly regarded film Jagun Jagun has received seven nominations at the esteemed Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA).

    The nominations were announced on Wednesday during a ceremony held at the Sheraton Hotel in Ikeja, Lagos. This event was attended by prominent members of the jury, the AMAA screening college, and the board of the Africa Film Academy (AFA).

    The ceremony, hosted by the distinguished presenter Vimbai Mutinhiri Ekpenyong, signified the official launch of activities for the 20th edition of AMAA.

    The nominations and award categories were carefully curated by the AMAA screening college and jury.

    Jagun Jagun has been nominated in several significant categories, including best actor in a supporting role, achievement in costume design, achievement in production design, achievement in makeup, achievement in visual effects, the NFVCB award for best Nigerian film, and the Ousmane Sembene award for best film in an African language.

    Raymond Anyiam-Osigwe, the chief operating officer of AMAA, outlined the key activities planned for the 2024 edition.

    He emphasized events such as the launch of the AMAA Coffee Book, the AMAA Africa Night of Legends, AMAA Meets Nollywood, the AMAA Africa Fashion Show and Exhibition, and the grand AMAA Gala Night.

    This year’s AMAA, themed “Celebrating African Creativity,” is being organized in collaboration with the Lagos State government.

    Among the notable attendees were George and Chinyere Anyiam-Osigwe, Kennedy Anyiam-Osigwe, Raymond Anyiam-Osigwe, NFVCB Executive Director Dr. Shaibu Husseini, Steve Ayorinde, Nobert Young, Segun Arinze, Francis Onwochei, Sunny McDon, Alex O, Cordelia Okpei, Charles Novia, and Dr. Queen Blessing Ebigieson.
