Actor Timini Egbuson slams musicians over lack of support for Nollywood

Nollywood actor Timini Egbuson has expressed his belief that musicians do not provide the same level of support to the Nigerian film industry as actors do for the music sector.

In a recent social media post, he articulated his wish for greater collaboration and backing from the music industry towards Nollywood.

“I really wish musicians supported Nollywood the way we support their music but that’s a conversation for another day,” he stated on his X account on Sunday.

The Nigerian film and music industries have historically been intertwined, with many musicians taking roles in Nollywood films and numerous actors pursuing careers in music.

Additionally, several actresses have appeared as video vixens in music videos, further merging the two entertainment realms.

Despite this interconnectedness, Egbuson’s comments underscore a continuing dialogue regarding the extent of mutual support between these two industries.

In related news, Timini Egbuson has articulated his aspiration for substantial, enduring relationships.

In an interview with TVC, he conveyed his dissatisfaction with fleeting, superficial romantic interactions, attributing the rise of short-term relationships to the impact of social media.

Timini noted that individuals frequently terminate relationships after encountering unrealistic expectations and misleading information online.

He underscored the significance of prioritizing authentic connections and recognized that the pursuit of meaningful relationships can often be a solitary journey.

Timini emphasized that successful relationships demand effort and commitment, expressing his weariness with transient connections.

He contended that the incessant flow of misinformation on social media can adversely affect relationships, leading individuals to prematurely conclude partnerships that may hold promise.

He said: “Sometimes, it does get lonely. Because you’ve got everything and obviously, you’ve understood the power of the energy that’s surrounding your space, so you’re not just going to let any and anybody in.

“I am personally tired of temporary connections when you meet somebody and after getting to know them, they leave. It gets tiring.

“People are quick to leave relationships because we are in a woke generation now where there’s a lot of misinformation going on, on how a perfect relationship should be. Maybe your man is treating you right, then you go on TikTok and you see something like, ‘Seven Signs He Is Not Your Man’ and if it resonates with your reality a bit, you dump your relationship”.
