Bimbo Ademoye, an actress and producer, has expressed her concerns about parenting and the need of safeguarding children.
In a post, she thanked fans who related to her movie “Shining Star,” which dealt with issues of child abuse and trauma.
Despite criticism from some viewers who thought the scenario was implausible, Ademoye stressed the need of attention in parenting.
She wrote: “Posted this on my story and thought to bring it on here. Saw this on @lindaikejiblogofficial and got a number of
tags from people saying it reminded them of
“SHINING STAR”.
“I was shocked I won’t lie. I remember when shining star aired, I got a number of backlash on how the movie wasn’t “realistic ” Some said it didn’t “make sense” ,story line no follow, how would an 11 year old boy hide a body, how would he even think about it.
“Someone even said lopeda talked too much. Asin a 12 vear old talked too much. A number of people didn’t like it because it wasn’t happily ever after.
“Some even said there’s no way it could have been a true life story. Anyways, a large number of people could relate, single parents, kids who had been abused by their parents, kids who had been abused by relatives who are now adults but still live with the trauma.
“Multiple mothers reached out to me and told me how the film touched them. YouTube limited monetization and views. In all, I’m so000000o grateful for you guys, ALL opinions are more than welcome (yes! Even
criticisms too.
“We can always agree to disagree) Dear parents ,PLEASE, be very watchful and very present. You have no idea what your kids are seeing, watching or hearing. The world is in a different place today, be vigilant! A ku Monday o.”
