Actress Destiny Etiko Berates Nigerians Over Excitement About BBNaija Despite Economic Hardship

Destiny Etiko, a Nigerian actress, has voiced frustration with the public’s enthusiasm for the return of Big Brother Naija, despite the country’s current economic woes and security concerns.

Etiko expressed her dissatisfaction in a now-deleted Instagram story post, emphasizing the disparity between the show’s popularity and the realities that many Nigerians are facing at the moment.

She wrote, “E don red for our country and I still dey see some people dey happy about BBN. Hmmmmm nawa o Oh una still get enough money for DATA Abi? If you guys do not complain, then who am I to do so? I am majorly concerned about the poor masses, though. That you can survive does not mean that everyone can. Crime is now happening everywhere, insecurity has become the order of the day and everyone is literally calm. THE EARLIER, THE BETTER.”

The actress questioned how people can be so engrossed in entertainment when basic necessities and security are major issues.

She pointed out that while some Nigerians seem to have the means to enjoy such shows, others are struggling with daily survival.

In other news, A media personality Solomon Buchi criticizes gospel ministers who incorporate social media trends and secular musical lyrics into their ministration.

Solomon Buchi took to his X page to voice his dissatisfaction with gospel ministers who use whatever method available to acquire listeners.

He stated that this act is unacceptable because it tarnishes the sanctity of the Christian faith.

God is meant to be praised in accordance with His word, as He merits the highest respect.

He also claimed that these gospel ministers should be classified as entertainers because that is what they are, riding the wave of the Christian faith.

His words: “It’s sad to see ‘gospel ministers’ incorporate trendy and secular musical phrases into their ministrations. This isn’t gospel music, neither is it a ministration. It’s just emotionalism; employing every possible means to gyrate listeners. I’m sick of it!

“Some ministers also incorporated the 12345678 trend into praise and worship, and it should be frowned upon. We are offering praise to God who deserves the maximum reverence. Stop soiling the sacrosanctity of our faith.

“It’s high time we called some gospel musicians what they are— they are just entertainers riding on the wave of the Christian faith. They’re not ministers, and that’s fine.”
