Ini Dima-Okojie, a well-known Nollywood actress, becomes distraught as she announces the recurrence of her fibroids after undergoing surgery two years ago to remove them.
The actress learned about the condition in 2017 before having a Myomectomy surgery in 2022 – an evasive surgery to remove fibroids – which gave her optimism till today.
Ini Dima-Okojie took to Instagram to share how she began to notice the signs again, encouraging other women to go test on time.
Ini has opted to try something other than myomectomy to shrink the fibroid, in the hopes of finding a long-term solution.
“My Fibroid Journey! I never imagined I’d be sharing this again after my last update on 30/12/2020, but here I am. My journey with fibroids isn’t over—I recently learned they’ve returned.
To every woman dealing with fibroids, I want you to know I see you. It’s not an easy journey, but my hope is that we can change the narrative and find a real and permanent remedy for fibroids,” she captioned the post.

In other news, Mercy Chinwo and her husband Blessed Uzochikwa, a famous gospel singer known around the world, have given full scholarships to 100 undergraduates at the University of Port Harcourt in Rivers State capital.
The couple announced the gesture before a crowd of elated students during their tour of the university on Friday, July 12, 2024.
The scholarship pays for all of a student’s school fees and gives them books, money, and other benefits that make learning more stable for bright but poor university students who deserve it.
The selection factors and other ways to narrow down the list of qualified candidates would be shared through the right methods. The grant starts right away and is worth a total of NXX million.
This was not the first time this year that the power couple did something nice for a good cause.
In April, Mercy Chinwo, Blessed Uzochikwa, and their recordGrace and Truth Nation Music gave scholarships to 50 first-year students at the same school. The scholarships were given on behalf of their “MercyBlessed Foundation” and their son Charis.
“Port Harcourt is home to me any day. The memories are fresh of a city where I dared to dream and hope for a purposeful life. I thank the Lord for His work in me and through me so far. The scholarship is to inspire students that their dreams and ambitions are valid and not to give up because there is a God who has ‘Excess Love’, ” she said.
The singer recently unveiled a 12-track album, ‘Overwhelming Victory’, which she recorded while she was pregnant.
Before ‘Overwhelming Victory’, Chinwo had recorded success in projects like ‘Elevated’, ‘Wonder’, and ‘Confidence’, amongst others.
