The Nigerian film industry has been rocked by another unexpected tragedy, with the purported death of Nollywood actress Aderounmu Adejumoke.
Her death has acted as a severe blow to the cinema business, especially for Yoruba movie producers, since she was a fixture of their profession.
The actress was claimed to have died on Saturday, April 6, 2024, although the cause of death has yet to be disclosed to the public as of the time of posting this story.
Seun Oloketuyi, a filmmaker and the founder of Best of Nollywood (BON), confirmed her death on Monday, April 8, via Instagram.
This thirty-seven-year-old actress has never been married or had any children. Most of her private life was kept private, as people only knew her for her work.
When Aderounmu Adejumoke wasn’t on screen, she was practically invisible. Her life was rather low-key, with little controversy surrounding her name. Adejumoke’s ability to stay current in the film industry without making a fuss was impressive, and it helped to safeguard her reputation.
Aderounmu Adejumoke was a wonderful actress who rose to prominence after playing a recurrent character in the Jennifer’s Diary film serial.
Aside from Jennifer’s Diary, Adejumoke appeared in Toyin Abraham’s Alakada, which was a great hit.
