Actress Lilian Afegbai Slams Lagosians Selling Asoebi in Dollars

Popular Nollywood actress, Lilian Afegbai, has expressed her frustration over a growing trend in Lagos where Asoebi for weddings is being sold in US dollars.

Taking to her Instagram page, Lilian shared her disbelief after being invited to a wedding where the Asoebi was priced at a staggering $1,200. The actress said she was shocked to see such an amount attached to a wedding outfit and questioned the increasing financial pressure surrounding social events in Lagos.

She criticized what she described as an exploitative culture creeping into wedding celebrations, adding that such practices are unnecessary and burdensome.

She remarked that was deeply shocked by this and wondered what was going on in Lagos.

Lilian’s reaction has since sparked conversation online, with many agreeing that wedding expenses in Lagos are becoming excessively extravagant.

“Naso wan lady invite me, I come check the invite see 1200, I come shock dey ask say say 1200 naira? Naso I come dey happy say things don dey change for Lagos. Na him I say make I just blink, na him I see dollar sign for the 1200. Na him i say hey, weting dey occur for here. I quickly carry my phone times 1200 x 1600. HOw many million naira be that. For Asoebi wey I go wear one time?”
