Actress Omowunmi Dada excited as she completes work as lecturer in university of Michigan

• Omowunmi Dada, a renowned Nollywood actress, has expressed her gratitude to God after completing her tenure as a lecturer at the prestigious University of Michigan.

• The 34-year-old movie star was chosen as a 2023 global artist-in-residence in Michigan, working with the African Studies Center and DAAS to develop audio-visual materials for teaching African Language.

• Omowunmi Dada, a Lagos-born artist-in-residence, taught and supervised students and teachers in Southeast Michigan, showcasing Nollywood and African film making.

Omowunmi Dada, a popular Nollywood actress, showed her thankfulness to God after completing her work as a lecturer at the prominent American university, the University of Michigan.

It should be noted that the 34-year-old film actor was named the 2023 global artist-in-residence in Michigan, where she collaborated with the African Studies Centre (ASC) and the Department of Afro-American and African Studies (DAAS) to create audio-visual materials for teaching African language.

Omowunmi Dada, a Lagos native and artist-in-residence, was able to lecture and oversee elementary, middle, and high school students and teachers in South-east Michigan. She also discussed Nollywood and African filmmaking.

Omowunmi has been on the Nollywood screen for about ten years, with her blockbuster films showcasing her success in the film industry.

The award-winning Nollywood actress starred in the well-known film Ayinla, starring Kunle Afolayan and Lateef Adedimejii. She also played a key role in Netflix’s original series Madam Koi Koi in 2023 and Mercy Aigbe’s Ada Omo daddy.

As the global programme came to a conclusion, Omowunmi couldn’t contain her pleasure as she shared a video of the unforgettable event on her Instagram page.

The ceremony documented the moment she was recognised for her efforts as an artist-in-residence in Michigan and presented with a certificate of honour.

In her post about the video, she stated, “As my time as the 2023 Artist-in-residence at University of Michigan comes to an end, my heart is overflowing with gratitude.”

“From the inspiring students who touched my soul to the incredible staff and lecturers at the Department of Afro-American and African Studies (DAAS) and the African Studies Centre who welcomed me with open arms, this journey has been nothing short of magical.”
