Actress Shan George has reported experiencing breathing difficulties after being exposed to tear gas by security personnel from the clothing brand Ashluxe.
The incident was initially highlighted by fellow actress Carolyna Hutchings on Sunday, who criticized the brand on Instagram for allegedly using tear gas against both herself and Shan George.
Carolyna recounted that the altercation took place while she was waiting for an Uber after parking her car in front of the Ashluxe building.
On Monday, Shan George posted a video on Instagram detailing her deteriorating health condition.
She revealed that her eyesight has been declining and that she has been having trouble breathing since the incident.
Despite her situation, Shan expressed her disappointment that those responsible have not offered any form of compassion.
“Today is Monday the 19th, and I am losing my eyes. I still can’t breathe well, and I am on medication. Those who did this haven’t even said a word, not even to sympathize.
“I’m just making this video as an update in case anything happens to me,” she said.
Earlier, Shan had posted a tearful video on Sunday, clarifying that her tears were not from crying but rather from the residual effects of the tear gas.
“I tried to go to church, but I couldn’t because of my eyes. Not because I am crying, but tears just won’t stop since yesterday. I will clean it, but it keeps coming back.”
Carolyna Hutchings also took to Instagram to criticize Olayinka Ashogbon, the managing director of Ashluxe, accusing him of showing a lack of “empathy” and “regard,” particularly towards women.
She expressed her frustration, noting that the company had not reached out to the victims or taken any measures against the security staff involved.
