A religious banner has sparked conversations on various social media platforms, generating a wide range of reactions from both Christian and Muslim communities.
The banner’s contentious message has encouraged contemplation and discussion, uncovering the varied viewpoints and feelings present within each religious group.
As users engage in sharing their insights and responses, the dialogue persists, emphasizing the complex interplay between religion and public discussion.
The banner was disseminated by Nollywood actress Wunmi Tuase on Monday, December 17, through a post on X (formerly Twitter), where she expressed her disapproval of its message.
“I don’t like to get into religious conversations, but I found it very weird that Lekki Central Mosque has this in front of their gate.” she wrote.
Reacting to the post….
@realHazeezat said, “Sincerely, Jesus is not God, He’s a Messenger and a Prophet. If he was addressed as ‘Son’ how can the son still be the father? This is a gospel truth. Jesus is not God.”
@afrotrax said, “The banner and its message has not gone unnoticed. Reverse the role or action and what do you think the outcome of such would have been?”
@AbiodunOlorire wrote, “He’s actually not God, How can a son be God, then the father is what ? Grand God.”
@LordViktor said, “Even Mosque needs Jesus to push themselves to trend.”
@egbelowo said, “Christianity promotes peace because its teachings encourage love, forgiveness, and non-violence over aggression or conflict. There won’t be any issue with the banner. Now, imagine placing a banner that says ‘Allah is not God’ in front of an RCCG church in Lekki. What would happen? Your guess is as good as mine.”
@Suleimanaliyu said, “Someone wrote Jesus is God and it’s not a crime. But other one Write Jesus is Not God and it becomes a crime.”
@BobEcheonwu said, “When you’re big, you’re big! Keep advertising Jesus Christ!”
@UgoBe3 said, “You don’t like blasphemy, but you like to be blasphemous and blaspheming up and down. Let us all allow peace to rain in this country, we’ve suffered enough, everybody should respect themselves, please. Thank you.”
@yfash58 said, “This is very stupid and wrong.”
@Chimacoeche said, “That’s because Christians don’t look into these things like the Muslims do.”
@IFconsults said, “Everyone is entitled to their opinion.”
