Nigerian actress Adesua Etomi Wellington has shared her fight against hyperemesis gravidarum following the tragic death of another woman who experienced the same illness.
According to People, an American media outlet, the woman, Jess Cronshaw, ended her life while coping with this severe condition, characterized by extreme nausea and vomiting, which can cause significant weight loss and dehydration.
It has been reported that Jess ended her life due to extreme morning sickness that left her unable to get out of bed and find relief.
Adesua took to her Instagram story to express her anger at people who struggle to understand how serious this issue can be. She also expressed gratitude to her husband, doctors, family, and friends for their support.
The mother of two explained that her condition is not typical morning sickness but a serious issue that lowers her quality of life. She wrote:
“When I talk about the seriousness of hyperemesis gravidarum, people don’t get it and I hate it. I am grateful for my husband, my doctors, family, and friends who rallied around me.
It is not an ordinary morning sickness. It is a serious condition that literally affects the quality of your life”.
